Ben Hutchinson

Born and raised on the west coast of Canada, Ben has spent his whole life surrounded by water and nature. Though most of his early travel was spent discovering the West coast of North America, it was when he was 25 that his first trip overseas instilled a desire to explore beyond his own backyard. Since then, he has made it his mission to see the world and share his love of travel and exploration with others.

The desk job proved untenable, so he resigned from his job as an accountant. He moved to Europe to begin his career as a guide. From 2005 to 2016 he lived and worked in London, Melbourne, Rome, Bangkok, and Berlin (Ben is always keen to practice his German!) before returning to Vancouver in 2016. A member of the Polar Tourism Guides Association, Ben joined the Quark Team in 2017 and continues to delight in expedition travel and connecting people with the Polar Regions.

Though he still calls Vancouver home, these days, it is more of a base from where he plans his next adventure. His passion for travel has brought him to all 7 continents and more than 100 countries and counting!
