Alison Gordon
Expedition Leader
Alison’s professional experience in international relations and passion for conservation propelled her towards the Polar Regions. Since her first trip to Antarctica in 2012, Ali has sought the astonishing sensory experiences the Polar Regions can provide. She is happiest when she sees the effects of the Polar Regions on others and can share the profound humility that comes with spending time in nature.
Australia is home for Ali, where she can readily enjoy fresh air, long beaches and mountains inhabited by native animals and statuesque snow gums. An avid skier, scuba diver, cyclist, and runner, she enjoys spending time exploring the outdoors with her husband, nieces, and nephews. Ali’s former career in Australia provided opportunities to travel and to develop her skills in leadership, management, communications, and logistics. She studied international relations at a post-graduate level and speaks Mandarin.
Outside of the polar regions, Ali has started a business that both reduces the quantity of unused food in landfills and provides a sustainable protein source for animals. Today, Ali revels in the opportunity to share her passion for conservation and the magic of the big wild with Quark guests.
