Alice (Erqing is her Mandarin name) is passionate about the wilderness and creating transformational experiences for people. She hopes to inspire others to discover more about the planet and themselves through unique experiences in the Polar Regions.
Alice grew up in Beijing, China, and lived in Britain and the US. Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English, she currently resides in California’s San Francisco Bay Area. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, cooking and practicing mindfulness.
Since joining Quark Expeditions in 2015, Alice has spent more than two full years in the Polar Regions. She feels the urgency to showcase the magnificent yet fragile beauty of the Arctic and Antarctica to explorers like you.
Alice has guided in Svalbard, Greenland, Nunavut in the Canadian Arctic, Franz Josef Land in the Russian Arctic, and has made three voyages to the geographical North Pole. Her Antarctic experience includes the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and interior Antarctica as far as the geographical South Pole.
